Mission and objectives
The SDG Observatory is an initiative of the Esade Center for LeadershipS and Sustainability with the collaboration of the "La Caixa" Banking Foundation.
The SDG Observatory’s mission is to conduct continuous monitoring of compliance with the SDGs among a relevant group of Spanish companies representative of all the key sectors.
The SDG Observatory’s objectives include evaluation of the progress and contributions of Spanish companies in their compliance with the SDGs and the development or application of quantitative methods (KPI) that enable the results to be measured.
The objectives are:

Evaluate the progress and contributions of Spanish companies in their compliance with the SDGs.

Select the subset of parameters, targets and key indicators that are directly relevant to the SDGs and design a valid metric for scoring the achievement of each chosen parameter.

Offer annual information on basic data and main conclusions.

4.
Present, when applicable, case studies and implementation examples of best practices, tools, and innovative initiatives that lend themselves to being reproduced by other companies.

Convert the SDG evaluation indicator template into a useful consultation tool for self-assessment by all Spanish companies .

Promote synergies, meeting points and discussions where best practices can be shared between companies.

Promote social debate and raise public awareness of the relevance of these objectives and the role and contribution played by companies in their achievement.
