Income by educational level and sex

This indicator provides information on the annual incomes of men and women, relating this to the level of education they have attained. Thus it has to enable us to see how the education level reached by people influences, among other things, their income.

The measure of income used is the overall net income in median terms. The median income is the value that, by ordering the income of the population (or of households) from lower to higher, leaves the income obtained by the 50% of the population below that value and the other 50% above it. Median income better represents living standards than mean income, as the distribution of income is usually asymmetrical, with very high values in the high income groups, which end up increasing mean values.
