Perception about culture and European citizenship

This indicator shows whether culture is perceived by citizens as one of the most important values of the European Union and whether it helps to create a sense of community. The indicator is presented for different groups with the objective of observing how this perception varies between sexes, type of habitat, social position or educational level achieved, among others.

This indicator stems from a question that is included in the module on European citizenship of the Standard Eurobarometer, in which people are asked about aspects that generate a greater feeling of community (among them, culture) and according to the most important values for the person interviewed and the values that best represent the European Union including respect for other cultures).
